4-25 Spelling Tip

Suffixes.
Word
endings are also called suffixes.
To add a suffix to a word ending with a consonant plus a silent e, you
drop the silent e before adding the suffix.

move very fast forward and backward; shake rapidly. |

whistling |
make a clear, shrill sound with your lips. |

mistaking |
think something that is not right or true: He was
mistaking me for my brother. |

wired |
put wires in: The electrician wired the house. |
9. |
sprinkled |
scatter in drops or tiny bits. |
10. |
budging |
move just a little bit. |
