4-25 Spelling Tip
Suffixes.
Word endings are also called suffixes.
To add a suffix to a word ending with a consonant plus a silent e, you drop the silent e before adding the suffix.

1. wrestling try to throw or force someone to the ground.
2. ignoring pay not attention to; disregard.
3. blazing a bright flame or fire.
4. plunged rush or throw yourself into:  She plunged into the water.
5. vibrating move very fast forward and backward; shake rapidly.
6. whistling make a clear, shrill sound with your lips.
7. mistaking think something that is not right or true: He was mistaking me for my brother.
8. wired put wires in:  The electrician wired the house.
9. sprinkled scatter in drops or tiny bits.
10. budging move just a little bit.
