3-27 Spelling Tip

Verb endings -ing and -ed.
The verb
ending -ing can be added to words ending in y.
The -ing verb ending is in burying, drying, and
buying.
The verb ending -ed can be added to words ending in y by
changing the y to an i.
The verb ending -ed is in worried and carried. |

drive, carry, send, or move quickly: He
hurried home after the movies. |
