6-34 Spelling Tip

Palindromes
Palindromes
are words that are spelled the same forwards and backwards.
Noon, pup, and dud are palindromes.

 

Words Definitions
1. peep to make a feeble shrill sound as of a bird newly hatched
2. nun a woman belonging to a religious order
3. poop an enclosed raised structure at the stern of a ship
4. non not
5. tot a small child
6. pip to break through the shell of the egg in hatching
7. bib a cloth or plastic shield tied under a child's chin to protect the clothes
8. deed a legal document by which one person transfers land or buildings to another
9. level a device used (as by a carpenter) to establish a horizontal line or surface
10. pup one of the young of various animals (as a seal)
