6-26 Spelling Tip

The order of i and e
Remember this rule. I before e except after c.
I before e is in the words thief and belief.
The i before e except after c rule applies in the words receive and perceive.

 

Words Definitions
1. believe to accept as true
2. receipt a written statement saying that money or goods have been received
3. belief a feeling sure that someone or something exists or is true or trustworthy
4. receive to take or get something that is given, paid, or sent
5. relieve to free partly or wholly from a burden or from distress
6. pierce stab
7. deceive mislead
8. conceive to form an idea of; imagine
9. thief one that steals
10. chief the head of a group; leader
