5-30 Spelling Tip
Contractions
Contractions are two words put together with one or more letters left out.  An apostrophe (') takes the place of the letters that are left out.  I'll is the contraction for I will.  The apostrophe takes the place of wi in will.  Couldn't is the contraction for could not.  The apostrophe takes the place of o in not.
