5-20 Spelling Tip

Plural endings -s
and -es
Plural means more than one.
The plural ending -s is added to tree - trees, cat - cats, and top -
tops.
The plural ending -es is added to trench - trenches.
The plural ending y is changed to i before adding -es
in army - armies and supply - supplies. |

stories |
1. accounts, true or make-believe, of some things that
have happened. 2. set of rooms on the same level or floor of a building: That house has two stories. |

more than one community. A community is a group of
people living together. |

copies |
1. things made to be just like another: These are
copies of a famous picture. 2. a number of the same book or magazines:
We have two copies of the magazine. |
