11. nervous 1.  of the nerves:  a nervous disorder.  2. having easily excited nerves; jumpy:  a nervous person.  3.  easily excited or upset; restless, uneasy, or timid:  Are you nervous about staying alone at night? 
12. prowl 1.  go about slowly and secretly hunting for something to eat or steal:  Many wild animals prowl at night.  2.  wander: he got up and prowled about his room.
13. hollow 1.  with nothing inside; empty.  A tube or pipe is hollow.  2.  a place lower than the parts around it.  3. take out the inside parts:  We hollowed out a pumpkin.
14. glow 1.  the shine that comes from something that is hot or bright:  There was a glow in the sky from the city lights.  2.  shine with a bright, warm color:  See how the fire glows.
15. borrow get something from a person to use just for a while:  He borrowed my book.
16. pronoun word used to indicate without naming; word used instead of a noun.  In "John did not like to go because he was sick," he is a pronoun used in the second part of the sentence to avoid repeating John.
17. powder material turned to dust by pounding or grinding it.   Powder feels soft.
18. mountain 1.  a very high hill.  2.  of a mountain: Mountain air is fresh.
19. shallow 1.  not deep:  shallow water, a shallow dish.   2.  lacking depth or thought, knowledge, feeling, etc.:  a shallow mind.
20. narrowly closely:  He narrowly missed being hit by the ball.
