13. excuse 1. give a reason:  She excused her mistake by saying she was tired.  2. not blame.  3. allow to leave.  3. a reason given to explain something you said or did.  5. Excuse me means Pardon me or I'm sorry or May I have permission.
14. zigzag a series of short sharp turns and angles:  He drew some zigzag lines on the paper.
15. position 1.  the place where a thing or person is:  The ship reported its position.  2.  a way of being placed:  The table is in its position against the wall.  3.  a job: He held a high position in the bank.
16. close 1.  shut:  Close the window.  2. come or bring to an end:  The meeting closed with a speech.  3. the end: We left at the close of the meeting.
17. zero nothing; the figure 0.  2.  a very low point:  It is so cold it must be below zero.
18. raise 1.  lift up:  Raise your hand.  2.  cause to rise:  The horses raised a cloud of dust.  3.  make grow:  the farmer raises cattle.
19. visitor a person who visits; a guest.
20. dozen twelve; a group of twelve things; 12.
