4-24 Spelling Tip

Suffixes.
Word
endings are called suffixes.
To add a suffix to a word ending in a consonant you double the
consonant before adding the suffix.
stop - stopped
forget - forgetting
big - bigger |

1. press or squeeze lightly. 2. fill or
block the way by crowding: Trucks jammed the street. |

spring, or move by springing: He hopped over the basket. |

1. out of head; crazy. 2. angry. |

nodding |
bow the head a little bit and raise it again quickly. |
10. |
plotting |
a secret plan, usually to do something bad: The men were
plotting to rob the bank. |
