4-2 Spelling Tip

Silent e.
You
know the long vowel sound is many times spelled vowel + consonant + silent e.
The silent e is the the vowel + consonant + silent e
in close, huge, and smile. |

1. a strong, bright light that hurts the eyes. 2.
shine strongly enough to hurt the eyes. 3. look at someone angrily. |

a sheet of glass in a window: The hail broke several
window panes. |

a march for some special event: Clowns were in the
circus parade. |
