        | Ow words. The
        ow vowel sound  is in the words clown, down, and frown.

          | Words | Definitions |  
          | 1. | clown | a person whose business is making people laugh by wearing funny clothes
        and doing tricks. |  
          | 2. | downhill | sloping downward; closer to the bottom. |  
          | 3. | frown | 1. wrinkles in the forehead, usually when a person is thinking hard
        or is angry:  He had a frown on his face.  2. look as though you are angry
        or thinking |  
          | 4. | however | in whatever manner or way:  You can do that however you like. |  
          | 5. | cowbird | a small North American bird that lays its eggs in the nests of other
        birds. |  
          | 6. | fowl | 1.  any kind of bird, but specially a rooster, hen, or turkey. 
        2. any birds used for food. |  
          | 7. | prowl | to move about and wander in the search of prey:
            The cat will
        prowl for mice at night. |  
          | 8. | shown | bring or put in sight.  She has shown me the pictures before. |  
          | 9. | coward | one who shows disgraceful fear.  The man was a coward. |  
          | 10. | flown | move through the air with wings.  The bird has flown to Mexico for
