4-11 Spelling Tip

Aw words.
The aw sound is in the words awesome and awful.

 

Words Definitions
1. awesome terrific, extraordinary.  That was an awesome movie!
2. awkward clumsy.  The injured squirrel was walking very awkwardly.
3. drawing 1. the act of drawing with a pencil.  He was drawing a picture for his mother.  2.  a picture:  The drawing by the artist was very well done.
4. dawn the first part of the day; the first light in the east: In summer dawn comes early.
5. sawmill a mill or machine for cutting logs.
6. fawn a baby deer.
7. drawn 1.  pull; get or take out.  The horse has drawn the wagon home.  2.  make a picture of anything with pen, pencil, or chalk.   She has drawn three pictures.
8. straw 1.  the dry stalks left after the grain has been taken out.  2.  a hollow stalk or something like it:  We drank our sodas through straws.  3. made of straw:  She wore a straw beach hat.
9. crawling 1. move slowly, pulling the body along:  We watched the caterpillar crawling on the grass.  2.  move slowly on hands and knees: The baby was in a crawling contest.
10. sawdust fine particles (as of wood) made by cutting.
