3-20 Spelling Tip

Consonant cluster.
Two consonant
sounds that begin a word are called a consonant cluster.
The consonant cluster sound is in smooth, speech,
and stamp. |

show you are pleased: He has a nice smile. |

smoke |
1. gases that rise in a cloud from anything that is hot
or burning. 2. give off smoke: The fire smokes. 3. draw into
the mouth and blow out smoke. Grandpa smokes a pipe. |
