Henry Goes Shopping

Henry's mom asked him if he would like to run an errand for her.  She was baking a cake and noticed she was almost out of sugar.

Henry was excited about going to the store.  He only lived one block away.  This was the first time he would go all by himself.

Mom gave him a $5.00 bill.  She said he should buy a five-pound bag of sugar, a newspaper for 25 cents, and a Popsicle to eat on the way home.

Henry put the money safely into his pocket and headed for the store.  Once inside he found the sugar right away.  He went to the frozen food section to look for Popsicles.  It didn't take long to decide upon a blue one.  The last thing he picked up was the newspaper.  He gave the cashier the money, took the bag, and headed out the door.

The Popsicle was very good because the sun was hot.  Soon Henry was giving his mom the bag.

"Henry, you did a great job," said his mom.

  "Thanks," said Henry!
