  Colorado is in the middle of a mountain region.  The Southern Rockies divides it in half from the north to the south.  Colorado is the highest U.S. State having beautiful mountain scenery.

  The mountains are the main attractions in Colorado.  Rocky Mountain National Park, Pike's Peak, and the Great Sand Dunes National Monument are all wonderful places to visit.  The U.S. Air Force Academy is also located in the Rockies.  Colorado has many winter skiing resorts, the most famous being Aspen and Vail.
