The Desert
The desert is often hot and
dry. The desert is bright and sunny. It does not rain
in the desert very often.
Lizards live in the hot
desert. Their bodies do well in the heat. They like to
lie on warm rocks and bask in the sunshine.
Cactus plants grow in the
desert. They can grow for a very long time without any rain
at all. They like heat and a lot of sunshine.
There are not many plants or
animals that live in the desert. The desert is almost
deserted. That is how it got its name.
