My New Hat

I got a new hat from Grandma Mary and Grandpa Joe.

Grandma made it all by herself.

Grandpa said he helped her, but I think he is fooling me.

Grandma made my new hat out of yarn.

She spun the yarn from wool.

She got the wool from the sheep they have on their farm.

Grandpa took the wool off the sheep.

Grandma dyed the wool.

She made some red and some blue.

She used berries to make the dye.

When the wool was dry she spun it into yarn using her spinning wheel.

Grandpa helped her roll the red and blue yarn into two big balls.

I like my new hat very much!

It is very special!
