Why?
Why do trees have leaves,
and why do leaves fall off the trees?
"Why, why, why,?" the little chipmunk
asked.
His mom and dad did not know.
The little chipmunk would not sleep this winter.
He would wait and see why the leaves fall off
the trees.
He waited and waited.
He was getting very sleepy.
He fell asleep as the world was turning white.
When he woke up, the leaves were back on the
trees.
It was Spring.
The little chipmunk still asks, "Why, why,
why?"
