Ghosts Don't Eat Potato Chips

Possible Answers

1.  What words would you use to describe Aunt Matilda?
Possible Answer: grouchy, old, mean, unkind, sick, lonely, unhappy

2.  Do you believe Liza's comment that ghosts can't rest if something they did during their lives is causing their loved ones to suffer?  Why?
Possible Answer:  I don't believe what she said.  I don't believe it because I don't believe in ghosts.  I think they are just something people made up to scare other people.

3.  The title of Chapter 4 is "The Legend."  What is a legend you have heard of?
Possible Answer:  A legend I think of is the Legend of the Loch Ness Monster.  It is a legend because people cannot prove that the Loch Ness Monster is true.  There are many people who claim to have seen it and it is written down that they have seen it.  However, it is still a legend because there is no proof of its existence.

4.  The author tells the reader that none of the children noticed the dark shadow by the refrigerator.  Who or what do you think the dark shadow is?
Possible Answer:  I think the shadow is Eddie's mom.  I think she followed Eddie and Howie to the house.  They did not want to go and they argued with her.  I think she followed them to make sure they did what they were told to do.  She knew Aunt Matilda was sick and she wanted to make sure that she had a meal to eat.

5.  What do you predict will happen in Chapter 7?   Why?
Possible Answer:  I think the kids will go get the food that Aunt Matilda told them to get.  I think something bad will happen on the way back to her house.  Maybe a dog will attack them and take the food away and eat it on them.  They will then have to tell Aunt Matilda and she will be madder and crabbier than ever.
