Possible Answer: the oldest Hatcher child, angry about his mom
having a baby, has a best friend named Jimmy, thinks his ears are too
big, doesn't want to move, has a dog for a pet, lives in New York City
2. The author Judy Blume does not tell the
reader Fudge's age. How old do you think he is and why?
Possible Answer: I think Fudge must be about five years old.
He goes to nursery school. He acts like a five year old when he
takes his little sister out of the crib and hides her. I also
think he's five because he bothers Peter a lot. Peter is about
twelve and would be very bothered by a little brother that age.
His parents also said he would be going to the same school as Peter when
they move. He will be starting kindergarten and they will both be
in the same school.
3. Fudge's favorite book is Arthur the Anteater.
What is your favorite book? Why?
Possible Answer: My favorite book is Harry Potter and the
Sorcerer's Stone. It is my favorite because it is the first Harry
Potter book. At first I didn't like it. I'm glad I stuck
with it and finished it because then I had to read all of the other
Harry Potter books. I like them because I learn a lot about
wizards and muggles. I have also learned a lot about Hogwarts the
school that Harry and his friends attend.
4. Give reasons why you believe Jimmy Fargo and
Peter are best friends.
Possible Answer: There is one place in the book where it says
that Peter tell Jimmy everything. This is the number one reason
why I think they are best friends. That's what best friends are
for. Even when they get mad at each other, they still are
friends. Like the time Peter tells Jimmy that he will be moving to
Princeton. First Jimmy says he never wants to speak to him
again. After a while he realizes what he has done and goes back to
apologize. These are some of the reasons whey I think they
are best friends.
5. Do you think Peter likes living in New York
City. Give reasons for you answer.
Possible Answer: I think Peter likes it in New York City
because his best friend lives there. He also goes to school there
and probably is used to the area. Another reason is his parents
told him he should give his dog away if he didn't want to use the Pooper
Scooper. He decided to keep the dog, even though he didn't like
the new law. So he must have liked living there to keep his dog
and pick up after him.
