5-17 Multiple-Line Graph

A line graph may be used to show trends and how data changes over time.  Every line graph has a Title at the top.  Each line graph also has a Vertical Axis (side) and a Horizontal Axis (side).  The vertical axis is called the Scale.  The Scale is the up-and-down number line on the graph.  The line graph below has dollars listed on the vertical axis.  The horizontal axis on a line graph goes left-to-right.  The graph below lists months on the horizontal axis.

The line graph below is called a Multiple-Line Graph because there are two different lines on the graph.  The Key below the graph tells us that the blue line is Room 1 and the green line is Room 2.  We can make comparisons between the two rooms using this information.
