Learn to divide 10s, 100s, and 1000s easily by using basic division facts.  Look at the examples and patterns below.

 

6 -:- 3 = 2

60 -:- 3 = 20

600 -:- 3 = 200

28 -:- 7 = 4

280 -:- 7 = 40

2,800 -:- 7 = 400

350 -:- 5 = 70

3,500 -:- 5 = 700

54 -:- 9 = 6

540 -:- 9 = 60

5,400 -:- 9 = 600

 

Notice the quotient 70 has the same number of zeros as the dividend 350.  The quotient 700 has the same number of zeros as the dividend 3,500.
