John wanted to divide
25 pieces of gum among his 6 friends. If he gave each friend 4 pieces, he would use
24 pieces.
6 friends X 4 pieces = 24 pieces of candy.
John has 25 pieces of candy. He would have 1 piece of candy left.
25 pieces - 24 pieces = 1 piece of candy.
John has a remainder of 1 piece of candy.
25 -:- 6 = 4 remainder 1.
