Learn to multiply a one-digit number and a two-digit number. For
example, 4 X 12 can be written as (4 X 10) + (4 X 2). Look at the example below.

You can solve the problem 4 X 12 by writing the problem as;
4 X 12 = (4 X 10) + (4 X 2) = 40 + 8 = 48
