3-26 Counting Between Thousands

To count from one thousand to the next thousand you count all 999 numbers in between.

1,001   1,002   1,003 . . .  1,999   2,000

The ( . . .) means and so on.

You can count forward and backward when counting between thousands.

 

Counting forward is the same as adding 1 each time.

3,993   3,994   3,995   3,996   3,997   3,998   3,999   4,000

 

Counting backward is the same as subtracting 1 each time.

45,005   45,004   45,003   45,002   45,001   45,000
