As you're learning how to build and recognize numbers you're also
learning to count to 100.
Now you can also count by 100s like this: 100, 200, 300,
400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900. 1,000 comes next!
Remember that 10 hundreds are the
same as 1,000. Notice that a comma is added. Count
three places over from the right and then add a comma. Example: 1,000
The number 1,000 has four digits. The number 10,000 has five digits. You can now learn the place value
of the digits in four-digit and five-digit numbers. Look at the table below.
