A thermometer measures the temperature.

 

On a hot summer day the temperature could be at 90 degrees Fahrenheit (F).

 

On a cold winter day the temperature could be at 30 degrees Fahrenheit (F).

 

Water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit (F).

 

If the temperature is lower than 0, it is -10 degrees below or -20 degrees below 0.

Use the thermometer to answer the questions.

You can ice skate outside when the temperature is 30, or 70, or 90 degrees?

degrees.

 

You can swim outside when the temperature is 20, or 50, or 80 degrees?

degrees.

 

You can build a snowman when the temperature is 20 degrees or 90 degrees?

degrees.

 

A glass of cold milk would be 40 degrees or 90 degrees?

degrees.

 

What is the temperature if it is 10 degrees more than 40 degrees?

degrees.

 

What is the temperature if it is 10 degrees less than 90 degrees?

degrees.

 

What is the temperature if it is 20 degrees more than 0?

degrees.

 

What is the temperature if it is 20 degrees less than 0?

degrees.
