Sayings are statements that describe our culture.  For example, "Seeing is believing" means you may not believe something until you actually see it.

Match the saying with the true meaning below.

A. Where there's a will,  there's a way.   B. Sit on the fence.
C. A watched pot never boils. D. A penny saved is a penny earned.
E. Read between the lines.
F. When in Rome, do as the Romans.
G. What will be, will be.
H. Take the bull by the horns.
I. Visa Versa. J. Till the cows come home.
K. Time heals all wounds. L. Steal his/her thunder.
M. Out of the frying pan and into the fire. N. A miss is as good as a mile.


If you don't spend your money it's just like earning it because you'll have extra cash on hand.
The passing of time will make ill feelings go away.
To stop hesitating and act.
If you want something bad enough, you'll find a way to get it.
If you're unsure of what to do, do as the people around you, follow the customs of the land.
Going from one bad situation to another.
The exact it and the other way around.
Missing by a bit is no better than missing by a mile.
Someone that does not take a side on an issue.
When someone else does something good before you have a chance to do so.
Some things are beyond our control.
Something won't happen for a long time.
Going beyond the surface of something to find out what it really means.
If you are anxiously waiting for something to happen, it usually takes longer.
