Compound Words

A compound word is made up of two words that are joined together.

some + one = someone

any + body = anybody

roof + top = rooftop

 

Directions: Write each new word across from its meaning.

 
Example: A room with a bed bedroom
 
The top of a tree
 
A board to write on with chalk
 
The light of the sun
 
Men who fish
 
The yard in back of your house
 
An ache in your back
 
A tack you can push in with your thumb
 
A cake you can eat with coffee
 
A pot you put a flower in
 
A drop of rain
 
An ache in your head
 
A man made of snow
 
A board you can surf on
 
A ball you kick
 
Flakes of snow
 
A boat with a sail
 
A brush used to clean your teeth
 
Drifts of snow
