A suffix is found at the end of a word. Some
suffixes are: -er, -est,
-ed, -less, -ness, -or, -ly, -y, -able, -ful, and -ing.
The words faster and
batter use the suffix -er. If you add -er to the word fast you get
faster. If you add -er to the word bat you get batter. Notice the
letter "t" is written twice in batter. The "t" is not part
of the suffix.
